Swiss made Cloud offers are evolving
Cloud leaders like AWS, Microsoft, Oracle or Google have a clear strategy: they want to place their services SaaS, PaaS, IaaS instead of their own on-premise solutions.
Transformation projects flourish by our customers and of course questions with regards architecture are raised. Various options emerge: cloud, on-premise or an hybrid approach mixing both.
Synchrotech naturally advices its customers during their journey to the cloud. However, some of them are, rightly so, still held back by:
- Their sensitivity related to the “immateriality” and uncertainties of the cloud;
- Laws setting clear rules for hosting sensitive data especially in the Public, Finance and Medical sectors;
- Data protection risks due to international agreements on data processing.
Cloud vendors have realized that Swiss companies will migrate to the cloud only if specific offers of secure, reliable and local hosting exist. Since August 2019, Oracle has taken the step by opening a data center in Switzerland.
Such announcement is encouraging because it really meets the expectations of regional customers. An answer is given to the last 2 brakes. Together we will be able to answer the questions and create the confidence to mitigate the first brake.
The move is underway, and it is no coincidence that Microsoft and Oracle are simultaneously announcing the interoperability of their Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud services.
